Aleksandra Wereszka, Ph.D.

Doctor of Arts in the field of fine arts in the department of applied arts. A graduate of the Faculty of Textiles and Clothing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

She combines artistic education with professional work. From the beginning of her professional career, she has been associated with the clothing industry as a clothing designer. As part of cooperation with the following companies: Miran, Reserved, Cropp, House, Esotiq, Wola, Gatta, Coemi, several hundred designs of her own clothing have been put into production. She presented her collections at fashion fairs in Copenhagen, Paris and Lyon.

She focuses her artistic activities around the form and its relationship with space, paying particular attention to the essence of the impact of objects on the recipient through the senses and feelings. She is inspired by the processes of physical phenomena taking place in the human body, the transformation of the figure at various stages of life and translates these into the language of abstract forms and then into utilitarian forms, which are usually clothes.

She also expresses herself in graphics, painting and unique fabric. She is a participant and finalist of competitions, exhibitions, art plein-airs and fashion shows in Poland, the United States, Portugal, Ukraine and Moldova. The artist's works are in the collections of the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź and in private collections in Poland and abroad.

She started her didactic work in 2010, she teaches Clothing Design at the first and second degree studies in the field of Design at the Institute of Textile Architecture and Industrial Design Engineering at the Faculty of Material Technology and Textile Design of the Lodz University of Technology. She is the promoter of bachelor's and master's thesis, the author and coordinator of original educational projects (Design for Corporations, Product in Industry) in cooperation with Top Secret, Monnari, Marilyn.

She collaborates on artistic and didactic projects with the Lviv National Academy of Arts, the Academy of Fine Arts named after Jan Matejko in Krakow, the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, secondary schools and cultural institutions.

She is the author and reviewer of scientific publications, participant in conferences and scientific symposiums both in Poland and abroad. Curator and organizer of exhibitions and fashion shows, juror of competitions for fashion designers.

Member of the Council for the Design and Industrial Design Engineering at the Faculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design of the Lodz University of Technology.

She is the Dean's Plenipotentiary for cooperation with industry and the Faculty Supervisor of Professional Practices.
