The Students Scientific Association "Fiber" operating at the Faculty of Material Technology and Textile Design brings together students interested in topics related to knitting, clothing and chemical aspects of textile products. Students engage in a variety of research, which can later be presented at scientific conferences. There is open recruitment for the students scientific association so applications are accepted throughout the academic year.

Mentor of the Students Scientific Association "Fiber": Justyna Pinkos, Ph.D.
The Students Scientific Association "Designer" has been operating at the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design of the Lodz University of Technology since 2011.
The goals of the "Designer" are: organizing exhibitions, scientific meetings and workshops; popularization of knowledge in the field of: - contemporary design, - history of design, - art, - use of graphic programs, - business and design marketing; mobilizing students to participate in design competitions; promotion of cultural events among students of the Lodz University of Technology; developing scientific cooperation with other research centers; promoting the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design of the Lodz University of Technology.
Among many activities aimed at development in the field of broadly understood design, the most important of them is the annual Retrospection event, i.e. recalling a specific decade and presenting completed projects inspired by this period. This activity brings together several specialties - visual communication, clothing design and fabric design.
