CDIO Academy?

The CDIO Academy aims to provide a place for students to work together on improving innovative ideas for addressing Megacity challenges. Students mature the best ideas in a “venture cup” model to show real impact. We have designed the following CDIO Academy set-up:

• Students at all CDIO universities, and in particular at your university, are invited to submit ideas for addressing Megacity challenges – see www.CDIOacademy.dtu.dk
• Participating students will receive currency (DTU Dollars) through a Virtual Idea Marketplace, “The Game” (opening on January 19, 2011) to invest in and trade shares in ideas submitted by other teams. The best ideas will attract the most investors in the idea, driving demand and price per share up. The highest share prices will reveal the best ideas.
• The best ideas will continue on to the second stage of idea maturation, in the CDIO Innovation Camp at DTU, Copenhagen . The camp will be held as part of the CDIO Conference from 20-23 June, 2011. The student teams will live and work in the” CDIO City” for the 4 days of the conference, where they will work to mature their ideas, and compete to be chosen as one of the top Smart City solutions.
